The Artists' Abode

I was just paging through the latest issue of Lonny and stumbled upon the Upper East Side Apartment belonging to Artists Laura and Diego Garcia.  I love how they were able to embrace the 70s aesthetic of the original space and tie some of the Modern Classics into their design.  They do an excellent job of pairing clean and simple pieces with those that are a bit more ornate.

I'm dying to find a lucite desk like this...

LOVE the Saarinen Dining Table and Bertoia Chairs.

Roman shades that mimic the decorative molding = perfection.

  1. I could spend hours upon hours looking at Lonny, haha. Te whole apartment is amazing, but I love that first image and the ottomans in the second!

  2. I love the black walls and white everything else--if only I were brave enough to try it in my own house!

  3. A horseshoe crab painted orange and turned into a wall sconce??? WHY have I never thought of that? I used to get them after the racoons had eaten out the crab when I lived in South Florida. Clean it out, make a mold and... wow!
