A Buenos Aires Escape

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was so busy, but awesome.  I was really looking forward to the Academy Awards too, so we snuggled in last night to watch.  I was planning on doing a red carpet post today, but I was so bored with the red carpet and the show in general, I didn't want to bore you as well!  So instead, I'm going to make you all envious of couple Jennifer Webster and Zsolt Juhasz Buday, who recently purchased an 8,000 sq ft home for $300,000 in Buenos Aires.  The facade of the home is absolutely gorgeous and after their renovations the inside is swoon-worthy too.

I love the gorgeous simplicity and crisp, clean whites.  And if you aren't already jealous, the current temperature in Buenos Aires is 77 degrees Fahrenheit. :)

Ginger Jars

Yesterday, Jen from Made By Girl posted about her new ginger jar.  I think ginger jars have a beautiful silhouette and I love their revival in home decor.  Looking through my inspiration folder, I found tons.  Can you spot them all?

You can see it's hand painted and so pretty!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Crushing On: Lucid Interior Design

I stumbled across Toronto based interiors firm, Lucid Interior Design, on Houzz the other day and immediately fell in love with their elegant, sophisticated interiors.  Their website is currently under construction, but from the images I found via Houzz it seems like their designs are very glamorous without being overdone.  I feel like I'm often describing designs I feature in that same way...I must gravitate towards that aesthetic.  Anyway, take a look at these gorgeous photos...

Glass backed Louis chair?  Yes. Please.

LOVE the dark brick with the dark floors and lush fabrics.

But now I want even darker floors with all white furniture.  Design ADD.

 Great open concept space.

There is not one part of me that doesn't want to jump into that room and sit in that lovely chair for a LONG read.

I'll take all the lighting and the art in this room.  Oh and the nightstands too.

I do believe that is a silver card catalog.

 Fantastic rug.

Olivia Palermo In Mustard

I saw this photo of Olivia Palermo the other day and I absolutely fell in love with the look.  That mustard dress is adorable, not to mention that color is so on trend right now (in fashion and home decor).  The look is understated, yet the fur stole and leopard booties add some flair.

I decided to see if I could recreate the look and it turns out it wasn't too hard to find the key pieces (and on a budget, nonetheless)!

A Bar of Your Own

It's no secret (if you've read this blog or seen photos of my living room) that I'm a huge advocate of having a bar in your home.  And no I'm not a lush.  I just think it's a great way to add sophistication to your design and is makes glasses and such accessible when entertaining (which I love).  Some bar cart images...

It's really so easy to get a great looking bar set up and there aren't any rules or requirements.  I would start with a long console table, bar or bar cart and start layering it with accessories.  Alcohol is of course usually in the mix.

Then take an ice bucket, like this one:

Some glam cocktail glasses, perhaps these:

 Or these:

Maybe a tray:

And a set of glass candlesticks:

With colorful tapers:

And a framed print:

And you're all set!  Cheers!
