Thrift Find Makeover

As you may or may not know, I love to thrift for furniture.  I think it is the thrill of the hunt along with the fact that I seem to somehow find something fabulous every time.  So with our recent move and new condo, I took the opportunity to fill some gaps in our decor (coffee table, wall art, etc.) with some thrift store finds.  My latest acquisition is a coffee table that I spotted last week.  Now, I do have to say that not everyone knows how to spot pieces that are worthy of a makeover.  However, I have a pretty good eye as well as a few resources in my back pocket - one being Mr. Goodwill Hunting.  Mr. Goodwill Hunting is a blog about thrifting written by Rashon Carraway and it has inspired me to get out as often as possible to find affordable pieces deserving a makeover.  So in my spare time I've hit up some of the thrift stores here in Madison and I have to say I've found some incredible items.  I love mixing high and low pieces in my designs, so I'm excited to have one or two go-to thrift spots.  So ANYWAY, I saw this coffee table the other day and snatched it up for a measly $9!

As you can see it needed a little bit of cleaning, mainly just the glass which was easy.  But beyond that it has a great structure and interesting details.  So I gave it a little TLC and here is what it looks like now.

I'm so happy with how it turned out.  It looks awesome with it's surroundings.  I can't get a great shot of the room because it is long and narrow but here is a glimpse.

What's so great about this is that the table cost around $35 with supplies and everything, PLUS I was able to customize the piece to my liking!
FYI, I offer low hourly rates for furniture selection so if you need help finding a piece of furniture on a budget, or giving a tired piece you own a new look, contact me at morgan.laske@gmail.com!
