Entryway TLC

"It's the first impression and will either open the door or close it."
-Nicholas Sparks

So the other day I was thinking about how the entryway of the home is usually where your guests get their first impression of what your space is like.  And if we were using Nicholas Sparks as a judge in my home, based on that little quote above, I'm thinking he would close the door.  That's right, my entryway is not making a good impression.  There are coats, dog leashes and boots strew about.  Okay, well if you know me personally you know that nothing is really strewn about, but it's definitely in need of some TLC.  As I was thinking about potential plans, this photo of Windsor Smith's entryway popped into my head.  I've seen it many times before but distinctly remember it from Elements of Style.

I adore the orange accents and I know Peter would love the orange as well.  Plus, boots and a bin (to stash some mittens, etc) have never looked so chic!  Inspired by this image, I gathered a few things I think I'll have to bring into my home to make a better first impression.
